61st ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BASKET CAMPAIGN
Every year our department in cooperation with the York Twp. Volunteer Fire department organize and distribute food baskets to the less fortunate of the Nelsonville and York Twp. area. The idea started with 14 baskets and now includes over 200 baskets each year. Over $6,000 is spent on the baskets. Our funding comes from local business, groups and citizens. This is one of our proudest traditions.
2009 IMPORTANT DATES
Applications for Christmas Baskets will be available starting November 27th. Applications are available at the Nelsonville Fire Station and the Nelsonville Water Office. Completed applications must be returned by by midnight December 5th. All approved Christmas baskets will be delivered on Saturday, December 19th between the hours of 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. Any person approved for a Christmas basket must be home to receive the basket.
